LeadingAge Wisconsin’s Political Action Committee (LeadingAge WI PAC) was created to strengthen our advocacy efforts on behalf of our members. The PAC is a voluntary, member-supported fund that helps expand our visibility and influence among current and future elected officials. By contributing to the LeadingAge WI PAC, you help ensure the voices of Wisconsin’s nonprofit, long-term care providers are heard at the state level.
Please note, contributions to LeadingAge Wisconsin Political Action Committee are not charitable donations and are not tax deductible under state and federal law. Federal law prohibits not-for-profit entities from contributing to political campaigns. Personal contributions to LeadingAge Wisconsin Political Action Committee are not associated with LeadingAge Wisconsin memberships dues.
The LeadingAge Wisconsin PAC is our bipartisan political action committee, funded entirely by voluntary personal contributions from members and supporters. Because nonprofits and corporations cannot directly participate in political campaigns, the PAC provides a legal and effective way for members to combine their resources and support candidates who understand and champion long-term care services.
The PAC strengthens one of the three essential parts of advocacy:
Grassroots engagement
Member visits, letters, and calls to policymakers
Direct lobbying
Association efforts with legislators and state agencies
Political giving
Supporting candidates who share our priorities
Contributions from the PAC help re-elect supportive lawmakers, build relationships with new officials and ensure the voices of long-term care providers are heard at the Capitol. Member dues and corporate funds cannot support PAC activities; all donations are voluntary and personal.
Members may also attend political events on behalf of LeadingAge Wisconsin with PAC approval, or contribute directly to candidates for personal recognition.
Ongoing, annual contributions are encouraged to maintain relationships, educate policymakers and keep long-term care issues at the forefront.
Advocacy is an ongoing effort. Continued support allows us to maintain relationships, reach new candidates and keep long-term care issues front and center. While one-time gifts are appreciated, monthly or annual contributions make certain we have a consistent voice in the political process. All donations are voluntary and at the discretion of each individual.
