CMS announced in March that they are changing the rules around telehealth and reimbursement due to the Covid-19 pandemic and emergency declaration. To prevent the spread of the virus, senior living providers now can be reimbursed for telehealth visits – representing a paradigm shift for the entire healthcare industry. There are several considerations, however, to ensure that telehealth visits are coded properly, patient information is protected, and new systems are adopted across the organization.
